How to use a toner pad

Medicube PDRN Pink Collagen Toning Gel Toner Pad

A toner pad is toner you can swipe on, already soaked into a soft round. Here is how to get the most from one.

Toner pads are one of the easiest ways to start Korean skincare. Each round is pre-soaked in toner, so there is nothing to pour and nothing to spill. Some, like Medicube’s PDRN pads, turn into a cooling gel.

  1. 1CleanseStart with clean, slightly damp skin.
  2. 2SwipeSweep one pad from the center of your face outward.
  3. 3Or restLeave it on dry cheeks for a few minutes as a mini mask.
  4. 4LayerPress in what is left, then serum and cream.

Tips for better results

  • Use clean fingers or the included tweezers so the jar stays fresh.
  • Close the lid tightly so pads do not dry out.
  • Avoid the eye area.
  • If a pad still has plenty of essence, flip it and use the other side on your neck.

Morning or night?

Why people love them

Toner pads take the guesswork out of how much product to use. Each round holds a measured amount of toner, and the soft texture makes it easy to sweep over your face in seconds. They are also travel friendly: one jar replaces a bottle and a stack of cotton rounds.

Swipe or mask?

Swiping is the quick everyday option. It hydrates evenly and can lift away any residue left after cleansing. Resting a pad on your cheeks, forehead or chin for three to five minutes turns it into a targeted mini mask for spots that feel dry or tight. Gel pads, like Medicube’s PDRN pads, feel especially cooling this way.

Choosing a pad

  • Hydrating pads: gentle enough for morning and night.
  • Gel pads: plush and cooling, great as a five-minute mask.
  • Exfoliating pads: use in the evening, a few times a week, with sunscreen the next day.

Whichever you choose, follow with serum and moisturizer so the hydration has something to hold it in.

Quick answers

  • Can I use a toner pad every day? Hydrating pads, yes. Exfoliating pads, a few evenings a week.
  • Do I need a separate toner too? No. The pad is your toner step.
  • Can I cut pads in half? Yes, for spot use around the nose or chin.

Store the jar out of direct sunlight and away from a hot shower, and always close the lid right after use. A pad that feels dry is a sign the jar was left open, not that you need more product.

Both. Hydrating pads work beautifully under makeup in the morning and as a calming step at night. If your pads contain exfoliating acids, use them in the evening and wear sunscreen the next day.
